PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA
Basis for the processing of personal data
On the basis of the Law on Official Statistics of the Republic of Lithuania (hereinafter – the LOS), State Data Agency (hereinafter – Agency) has been appointed as one of the institutions managing official statistics and implementing the Official Statistics Program.
Data for the implementation of population surveys are provided and obtained on the basis of the following legal acts:

Regulation (EC) No 223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 March 2009 on European statistics and repealing Regulation (EC, Euratom) No 1101/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the transmission of data subject to statistical confidentiality to the Statistical Office of the European Communities, Council Regulation (EC) No 322/97 on Community Statistics, and Council Decision 89/382/EEC, Euratom establishing a Committee on the Statistical Programmes of the European Communities, as last amended by Article 17a of Regulation (EU) 2015/759 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2015;

Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) by Article 6 (1) (c) and (e);

Article 5 (Part 1) (1), (4), (11) and Article 10 (3) of of the LOS;

Article 3 (Part 1) of the Law on Legal Protection of Personal Data of the Republic of Lithuania.
Agency, as the body managing official statistics, has the right to obtain free of charge from the state registers the necessary statistical data, including personal data, as well as special categories of personal data, and such data from which direct or indirect identification is possible, as well as to combine them with other statistical data (Article 5 of the LOS), therefore we emphasize that the processing of personal data of the public is in all cases subject to a legitimate purpose and an appropriate legal basis (Article 6 (1) (c) of the General Data Protection Regulation - processing of data is necessary to comply with the legal obligation applicable to the data controller).
Right to restrict data processing
We will not be able to exercise the right to restrict the processing of your personal data, as personal data (including special categories of personal data) used by Agency for official statistics are not subject to the data subject's rights under Articles 18 and 21 of the General Data Protection Regulation, i.e. the right to require the controller to restrict the processing of data and the right to object to the processing of personal data concerning him.
The right to be forgotten
Pursuant to Article 17 (3) (b) of the General Data Protection Regulation, we will not be able to exercise your right to terminate the processing of personal data, as personal data are processed in accordance with the present legislation in force in the Republic of Lithuania (in compliance with the legal obligation (imposed) on Agency. At the same time, we explain that we may execute a request to delete data, but only to the extent that your personal data is not processed in accordance with the legislation.
